The response to the national call to prayer from the Presidents of Churches Together in England was enormous and a very encouraging report on it is available.

The only activity during the CONVID 19 period is the food bank Tuesday 10.00 - 12.00

A message from Revd Neil A Stubbens

‘The calling of the Methodist Church is to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission.’

The coronavirus pandemic means that, for the foreseeable future, we will be living out our discipleship in some different ways: our public worship has ceased but we continue to pray and may discover some new and imaginative ways to do so; some forms of mission have to be suspended but some need to continue and others will need to be developed.

I commend the pages on the Methodist Church’s website about mission during the coronavirus pandemic which include one on prayer.

Networks of support are emerging in many places and I am pleased that the South Sefton Foodbank is continuing to operate from our building. The Trussell Trust has issued an urgent request for support from churches. It is crucial that those who are vulnerable in whatever way, both in our community and more widely, are at the heart of our prayers, concerns, and actions.
